Welcome to It's a STEEL Knives and Sharpeners, the trading name of KnifeProZAR (Pty) Ltd, in Potchefstroom. Our passion is sharp things, and particularly good knives.
What we stand for
Only premium quality. We value well-made knives and precision sharpeners and hold both to a high standard. For us, only the best will do.
A knife is a companion. Treat it well and it will serve you faithfully, time and again. Our sharpening service and our own knives are built on that belief.
Steel first. In a knife we look for superior steel and materials, crafted for durability, lasting usefulness and sustained sharpness. In a sharpener we look for exact angles, ease of use and, above all, repeatability. Every knife we sell states the steel it is made from; if we cannot confirm the steel, we do not sell the knife.
Willie Jordaan
Willie has practised as an attorney in Potchefstroom since 1999 through Willie Jordaan Attorneys, and It's a STEEL shares the firm's premises at 74 Smit Street. Alongside the law he has a deep-rooted love of knives, which led first to importing and selling the best knives and sharpeners he could find, and then to making knives himself.
To him a knife is akin to the law: reliable and indispensable. Both reward precision and craftsmanship, and both punish shortcuts. That is why the knives that leave his bench carry his name, and why every knife that comes in for sharpening is treated as if it were his own.
